Tallest Jesus Statue in the World

Indonesia ia a country with the largest Muslim pupolation built the tallest Jesus statue in the world. Not in Brazil anymore, because it's 2 meters taller than the Jesus the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.

Located in Burake Hills, Subdistrict Makale, District Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, happens to be the place where the tallest Jesus statue stands. It's built by the local goverment of Tana Toraja with total height 40 meters, with the runway height 17 meters and the statue height 23 meters. While the statue of Jesus the Redeemer in Brazil stand with total height 38 meters, which is 30 meters the height of the statue and 8 meters of the runway.

If it's only count by the statue height, this is not happened to be the tallest Jesus statue in the world. There is a statue of Jesus the King in Portugal which 110 meters tall. But Jesus statue in Indonesia happens to be the tallest Jesus statue above sea level. It's 1.100 masl, while in Brazil, it's only 710 masl.

It's only 3 kilometers in the east of downtown Makale, not very far from the Makale Pond Roundabout.

At first, the road is paved, but actually a third of the road is rocky. But don't worry, motorcycles or even cars could make it there. There is also parking lots. You can park in the first parking lot and walk through the
stairs to reach the statue or you can park right under the statue, it's just a little further and more rocky.
